CTS-287 final

I did my final presentation on Mint.com. I think that Mint .com is a very good tool to use for managing you money. Here's a link to my presentation on Mint.com.

Useful Cloud-base tools

Mint.com can help you manage your money better with both your business and personal. Mint.com is just like your online banking account. It is safe, it is secure and it is free.  It can help you budget your money so you cannot do too much spending. It can be set up to where you can tell mint.com to send you a text if something unusual happened on your banking account. It will remind you when your next bill is due.  I sign up for mint.com to hopefully budget myself better because my money be gone in a flash and I don’t have a clue sometimes where it is.

Cloudo is like Dropbox where you can access your pictures, documents or music from anywhere in the world. You can use this for both business and personal as well.

Evernote is a good thing for people that can’t seem to remember things that are going on with their everyday life. Since more and more people are either on their computer or cell phone EverNote can help remember their next appointment or their next meeting. You can also use this for recipes, remember birthdays, or to plan for a vacation or have lunch with friends.

SchoolTube is something for both students and teachers. SchoolTube is used for the kids to learn more about different subjects that they may have problems with so that they can excel in school. Teachers can also use schoolTube to give inspirational videos or learning videos for both teachers and students to look at. The difference between schooltube and youtube is that there is nothing negative on schooltube. Schooltube is all about learning and for students to get better in school. It doesn’t matter what school you are at.

Box is also an online storage. You can store up to 5GB of pictures, videos, and/or documents onto this site. You can also share your file to anyone you want. This can also be used for personal and/or work.  You can get Box to where you can look at your files through you cell phone.

SwiftPoint Wireless Laptop Mouse

My blog for this week is about the SwiftPoint Laptop Mouse. This mouse is used for laptop users who are tired of using the touchpad on their laptop. To use this mouse, you can put the mouse on any surface on the laptop. It has a right click, left click button and a scroll wheel, just like a regular mouse. It has a USB to where the mouse can be charge up. When it is completely charged, it can be used up to two to four weeks. Even if it's just charge for 30 seconds, it can be use up to a hour.
How did this mouse come about? In 2008, software engineer and founder of SwiftPoint, Grant Odgers found that laptops can be very inaccurate and inefficient substitute for a regular mouse. He got some of his friend to invest in his idea to work on "a concept for a small, portable mouse that could actually be used on your laptop surface itself."

But like any other technology, there are some pros and cons.

Pros
  • Tiny but surprisingly comfortable
  • Useful scrollwheel features
  • Works well as a wireless presentation remote
Cons
  • Right-handed use only
  • Not as comfortable as a full-size mouse
  • Customization options limited
The Operated Systems that supports this mouse are:
Windows 7®Windows Vista®Windows® XP
Windows® 2000
Mac OS® 10.4 or higher

This mouse cost between $60-$85. I think that this will be something that I would be interested in buying if I had a laptop.
